Term 3
This term we will be focusing on creative writing. Throughout the term we will be learning different creative styles, morals and fables within literature.
Below are some immersion tutorials to introduce you to term 3
Tutorial 1: Introduction to unit 3/Moonman
In this tutorial you will be introduced to the focus for term 3. We will also watch the dreamtime video Moonman and you will create your own short story based on what you have seen.
Tutorial 2: Morals
In this tutorial we will learn about morals. You will think about what the moral and message is of Moonman and you will fill out the vocabulary document.
Tutorial 3: Fables
In this tutorial we will begin looking at fables. You will learn what they are through the video found on the powerpoint. As a group we will read the story Fox by Margaret Wild and we will make predictions as we read.

Term 3 - Creative Writing Tutorials
We will now begin the term 3 tutorials focusing on creating writing and allegories. Make sure you revisit and use these lessons to stay up to date and ensure you understand what is required for the assessments.
Tutorial 5: Symbols
In this tutorial we will do a recap of last term and begin to look at symbols and their meaning through denotation and connotation.
Tutorial 6: Bookmarks
In this tutorial we will be focusing on symbols and creating bookmarks that represent YOU.

Tutorial 7: Creating your bookmark
In this tutorial you will create the bookmark you designed yesterday.
Tutorial 8: Symbols in literature
In this tutorial we will analyse some images, advertisements and poetry and identify the symbolism and connotations within them.
Tutorial 9: Similes and Metaphors
In this tutorial we will learn what metaphors and similes are, and use them in your writing.
Tutorial 10: Similes and Metaphors
In this tutorial we are going to apply what we know about similes and metaphors to images and words.
Tutorial 11: Allegories
In this tutorial we will learn what an allegory is. We will also look at some examples of allegories in literature.
Tutorial 12: Allegories and examples
In this tutorial we will continue to learn about allegories.
Tutorial 13: Allegories and examples
In this tutorial we will look at Dr. Seuss and how he creates allegories in this famous stories.

Tutorial 21: Quality Writing
In this tutorial you will look at quality writing to support your picture story book. You need to consider the 'show don't tell' strategy and use this when writing your draft.
Tutorial 22: Storyboard
In this tutorial you will begin planning and plotting your story using a storyboard. It's important to think about the drawings you will have and the language you will use in your picture story book. You also need to think about the narrative structure.
